90s Kids explores the evolution of 90s and Y2K Chinese pop music, featuring tracks by Jolin Tsai, Jay Chou, Cyndi Wang, JJ Lin, Stefanie Sun, and Faye Wong. I mix these iconic songs with music from Western labels and movements like Raster-Noton, PAN, and Hyperdub, creating seamless sets that explore themes of identity, memory, and reinvention.
This project reflects my journey from China to Switzerland and connects personal transitions with the rapid changes in China’s society and how they resonate with broader contemporary shifts worldwide. Through these sets, I hope to create an emotional and forward-looking soundscape, reimagining familiar songs while exploring themes of connection and growth.
